Hello World!
To get the ball rolling, here is a description of who we are and what we do:
We work hard to get things done on time. The competitions are fun and creative. Everyone always have something to do. We work efficiently and make sure everything is done one time. During the competitions we get to see the other teams work and see how they work together, both in their pits and on the competiton floor. Last year was a blast of fun and creativity, especially during the teams late night build sessions. We got tacos, pop and music, and we test drove the robot, almost running a few things over in the process!
There are several different parts of the team. There's programming the robot, building the robot, dealing with the business of money and advertisment, making a website, making the t-shirt logo, making the mascot costume, and much, much more.
FIRST Robotics isn't just about robots. We get to try to win a wide multitude of trophies. Some for winning the competition, some for being creative, some for making a safety video and so many more. Plus being in robotics can be great on college applications and resumes.
We also get to interact with mascots. Last year there was a tiger mascot, a chicken mascot, a horse mascot and many more. They would dance, "fight", have chicken dance competititions, and interact with the crowd, amongst other things.
Our only sponsor right now is Boston Scietnifics, giving us money for our entry fee and robot kit. We are able to go to the main competition because of them, so we owe them a huge thanks!
We might not be the biggest team, or the richest team, but when it counts we work together like a family, striving to be the very best we can!
